LAS VEGAS KENDO CLUB

 Kendo is a traditional Japanese martial arts, and there is a large population of Kendo lovers in the US.  You can think of it as a "Japanese style fencing" if you'd like, although the two are very different. Watching the videos that we linked at "What is Kendo?" and "What is KENDO SPIRIT?" on the left is also very useful in understanding what Kendo is all about. 

The philosophy of our club is to learn and execute the correct, beautiful, and strong Kendo.  

Our club was originally founded by Mr. Tetsuo Watanabe sensei (7 Dan) in early 2008, but he had to return to Japan due to personal reasons in November 2008. Therefore the club is currently operated by several instructors.  Our club is NON-PROFIT 501(c) (7), and all of our instructors have other day-time jobs.  We are teaching Kendo as volunteers.  Please respect the time and effort that the officers put into the operation of the club.  Together, let Kendo flourish in Las Vegas and all over the world. 

Our club is affiliated with the All United States Kendo Federation (AUSKF) and Southern California Kendo Federation (SCKF) through a partnership with the PJCI Kendo Dojo in Pasadena, CA.  We are particularly grateful to the support of Yamasaki sensei at PJCI Dojo and Shikai sensei at Chuo Dojo in LA. 

The practice is usually attended by 10-15 children and 5-10 adults.  We are always craving for instructions/seminars by a higher ranking sensei, so please contact us at the email address below if you ever pass by.  We would be delighted to have you at our dojo.  We have a set of bogu and dogi available for visiting sensei.

我がクラブのモットーは、正しく、美しく、強い剣道を学び、楽しく実践していくことです。 

ラ スベガス剣道クラブ（LVKC）は、2008年初旬に渡邉鉄夫先生（七段）によって設立されました。諸般の事情により、2008年秋に渡辺先生は日本にご 帰国することになり、その後残った者がクラブを引き継いで運営しています。 LVKCは非営利団体として登録されており、指導者達は皆日中仕事を持ちながらボランティアとして協力指導していますので、皆さんのご理解とご協力をお願 い致します。 

LVKC は、カリフォルニア州ロサンジェルスにあるパサデナ剣道道場を通じて、南カルフォルニア剣道連盟および全米剣道連盟に加盟しています。パサデナ剣道道場の 山崎先生（五段）とロス中央道場の四海先生（七段）にも時折訪問稽古に来て頂いています。通常の稽古は子供10-20人と大人5-10人程度が参加してい ます。

当クラブには現在6段以上の高段者がおらず、常に高段者の先生の指導を渇望しております。ラスベガスにいらっしゃる先生方がいらっしゃいましたら、ぜひ下記メールまでご一報ください。訪問者用の防具、道着、竹刀を用意してあります。
