We had a blast at our first Ryugamine Dojo Year-End Party (RDYEPP) !! It was a great occasion to talk to you all, and our kids had a great fun. All the dishes were great, and the quality was way higher than we expected. We should continue this tradition in the coming years as well. Lastly, to all the parents: thank you for your support for Kendo and LVKC throughout this year. It has been a tough but great year with the completion of the Ryugamine Dojo. Without your support, your child (and we) would not be able to continue Kendo. Happy (almost) New Year!!
The Winter 2012 session has started at the new Ryugamine Dojo. We forgot to take a picture on the first day (Dec 9) when we had a huge attendance. But we took one in the 2nd week. Somewhat lower attendance this day, but we are enjoying the new dojo anyway! Little by little, we are adding new features to the new dojo, and gradually approaching the appearance of an ideal dojo.
We had the honor of having Nakata sensei (Hanshi 8 dan) and Kato sensei (Kyo-shi 8 dan) visit our new dojo as part of their AUSKF Kendo Educational Tour. It was a short one-day visit, but we had a good keiko on the basics of kendo with them.
We had the honor of having Kamei sensei (Hanshi 8 dan) visit our dojo after the SCKF seminar in LA. We appreciate his instruction on the basics, and for showing us his beautiful kendo.
With the help of Siina sensei (7 dan, Bushou Kousha) and in collaboration with the Araki Mujinsai-ryu Iaido group, our dreams have come true. Siina sensei gave us the name of Ryugamine (竜ヶ峯)Dojo. If you'd like to know the meaning of the new dojo name, please visit us! This dojo was built solely by the members of LVKC and Iaido group.
Siina sensei (7 dan, Bushou Kousha) visited us from Japan to help us build a new dojo floor. We had a really great time with him, and learned quite a lot about kendo and budo in general. Thank you, Siina sensei.
We are very happy to report that one of our members, Mr. Stefan Locklair, has passed the 4-dan test on July 22 at the shinsa after the summer camp. We now have two sensei above 4 dan, so this is a great step up for us. Please congratulate the new Stefan sensei!
The AUSKF Summer Camp was held at the UNLV Recreation Center on July 20-22. Some of the LVKC members have helped the organization of the event. We are very glad to finish the event successfully. Over 140 people participated the event. Thanks to AUSKF for giving us this opportunity.
Yamasaki sensei, Inada san (PCI) and Mr. Aram Kailian (Shidogakuin, NYC) visited our dojo for another keiko. Thank you both for visiting us. We had a great keiko.

Watanabe sensei (7 dan), the founder of LVKC in 2008, visited our club again. All of us enjoyed practicing with him.
Action! The shinai is falling down! This is one of our ways to train our reflex & instinct for leaping into motion instantaneously.
Today was the last day of the Winter Session at the dance studio. So we had some fun with the balloon fight!!
Eitoku sensei (6 dan) visited us from Salinas Kendo Dojo for the first time. We all had a great keiko. Thank you very much for taking the time to visit us, sensei.
Wei sensei (7 dan) from Guang Zhou, Hsu-Do-Kan Dojo visited us again for his 3rd time. We had a very good keiko. Thank you very much for taking the time to visit us again, sensei.
